- 1). Open the end of the tulle bag with your fingers.
- 2). Place the open end of the tulle bag over the spent bloom, careful not to knock the bloom off of the petunia plant.
- 3). Pull the drawstring on the tulle bag and tie loosely to the stem of the petunia plant.
- 4). Observe the tulle bag daily for seeds to appear once the seed pod splits.
- 5). Use scissors to cut the stem of the plant about 1 inch past the tulle bag so that a portion of stem is sticking out of the bag.
- 6). Open the drawstring of the tulle bag carefully over a pie plate.
- 7). Remove the stem from the tulle bag.
- 8). Write the date and label on a piece of paper, fold and stick into the bag with the petunia seeds.
