How to Remove Moss & Algae From Wood Siding

- 1). Fill a bucket with warm water. Add oxygenated bleach powder according to the instructions on the package.
- 2). Dip the head of a scrub brush into the bucket and use it to wet the surface of the siding with the solution. Start at the top of the side of the house and work your way to the bottom. Let the solution sit on the wood for 15 minutes undisturbed. Apply the solution to one side of the house at a time.
- 3). Gently scrub the wood siding, following the grain. Scrub more firmly on spots with visible moss or algae growth.
- 4). Rinse the scrubbed side of the house with a garden hose. Repeat the wetting, scrubbing and rinsing process on each side of the house until you have treated the entire house.
