- 1). Go to "Applications" then "Accessories" and open Terminal. This program is a command shell used for communicating with the operating system using text commands.
- 2). Type "sudo apt-get install wine" in Terminal, followed by "Enter". Enter your password when prompted and wait while it downloads and installs Wine, an emulator for running many Windows programs in Linux.
- 3). Insert your Office 2007 CD and double-click on the icon that appears on the desktop to open its contents. Locate "Install.exe" and right-click on it. In the menu that comes up, select "Open Using Wine Windows Program Loader". This launches the install package with the same interface you would see in Windows. Follow the on-screen instructions to completely install Office 2007.
