How to Set Corel Painter to Recognize a Drawing Tablet

    • 1). Connect the drawing tablet to the computer. Click "Start," then Input "device" into the search box and click "Device Manager."

    • 2). Expand "Human Interface Devices." Confirm that the drawing tablet is in the list of drivers. If the drawing tablet isn't present, insert the software CD that came with the tablet into the disc drive and install the device driver.

    • 3). Click "Start," then input "appwiz.cpl" into the search box. Press "Enter" to open Programs and Features. Click "Turns Windows Features On or Off" from the left pane.

    • 4). Input the administrator's password if prompted, then press "Enter" to proceed. Scroll through the list of features and locate "Tablet PC Components."

    • 5). Check the box next to "Tablet PC Components," then click "OK," to enable the feature in Windows. Click "OK," then restart the computer to turn on full tablet support.

    • 6). Open Corel Painter, and move the pen across the tablet to confirm that Painter recognizes the drawing tablet.
