How to Fix Underexposed Pictures

    • 1). Open the folder on your computer containing your digital pictures.

    • 2). Right-click on the picture you want to edit. Click on "Open with" and then choose "Windows Live Photo Gallery" and click "OK." Your picture opens in a new window.

    • 3). Position your cursor over the "Fix" button in the navigation toolbar of the new window and click on the button. A new margin will appear on the right side of the window. Click on "Adjust exposure," which will reveal four slider adjustment bars and a "Histogram."

    • 4). Slide the "Brightness" bar until the image reaches the exposure level you feel is correct. You can adjust the "Contrast" slider and the "Shadows" and "Highlights" slider to fine-tune your image.

    • 5). Click on the "File" tab in the navigation bar, select "Make a copy" and save your adjusted image with a new file name.
