Great Reasons For Staying in the West End

When it comes to planning a stay in London, you have plenty of locations to choose from.
But the West End of London has lots of things to offer the eager traveller.
Perhaps the most famous activity to do in the West End is to go and see a show.
There are plenty of famous theatres dotted all around the West End, and some roads have more than one theatre on them as well.
Take Shaftesbury Avenue for example.
It has several theatres along its length, including the Lyric and the Apollo.
But while theatre trips are definitely worth the effort, there are other activities you can indulge in too.
You'll certainly need your comfortable shoes with you if you want to try a spot of shopping in the West End.
Oxford Street alone can take you much of the day to browse your way along.
There are plenty of different stores here, as well as lots of eateries to provide some sustenance for when you need to rest your sore feet.
There is also Regent Street and Bond Street to look at, the former being the home of Hamleys.
This is just about the best toy shop in the world, with plenty to excite children of all ages.
Be prepared for crowds at any time of the year.
But there are also some smaller and less well known attractions that bring still more people to the West End each year.
For example you can take a look inside the former home of composer Handel.
If you want to go from a modern street in Mayfair and step back in time into his house, you will need to go to 25 Brook Street.
It's well worth the visit.
If you are unfamiliar with the West End and making your first visit, it might be worthwhile planning a tour to make sure you don't miss out on the best bits.
There are plenty of professional tour companies that provide various styles and types of tour on a daily basis.
Some of these take place on hop on, hop off buses, but there are also walking tours that guarantee you'll work up an appetite for lunch.
These generally take in some of the smaller and less well known areas and locations that not everyone will know about.
No matter where you choose to visit, you will have plenty of hotels in London to choose from.
Staying somewhere close by is always a good idea, since it won't take you long to return to your room and freshen up at the end of the day.
