• English mustard is made from ground mustard seeds, wheat flour and turmeric. Yellow mustard seeds are the principal ingredient; however, some varieties of English mustard also contain black mustard seeds.
  
  

Varieties

• English mustard is sold both in powder form and as jars of pre-prepared mustard. Powdered mustard can be added to sauces or mixed with cold water to form a mustard paste.
  
  

Uses

• For a Sunday roast dinner, dried English mustard powder is often added to a joint of beef. English recipes also specify adding mustard to cheese sauce to make a traditional dish of cauliflower cheese.
