How to Get Layers in GIMP
- 1). Open GIMP. Spread the windows out so that you can clearly identify all the open tools. Read the header of each box and verify that the Layers box isn't already open.
- 2). Press "Ctrl" and "L" on your keyboard at the same time to open the Layers window.
- 3). Click the left-most button on the bottom of the Layers windows to create a new layer. A configuration window will appear. Enter a name for the new layer, change the layer's color and resolution if you want, then click "OK".
