- 1). Lightly tap the screwdriver with the hammer into each coconut eye until it's fully pierced. Empty the milk from the coconut into a water glass. Drink or refrigerate for later.
- 2). Rest the coconut on the floor and crack open with the hammer. Using a butter knife, gently dig out the white meat of the coconut. Place the coconut meat in the blender. Add 1 ounce of water and blend until a thick coconut paste has formed.
- 3). Empty the paste into the cheesecloth and squeeze out the liquid into a jar. Now, scrape the coconut paste from the cheesecloth back into the blender. Add a drop of warm water and blend. Squeeze the liquid from the cheesecloth into the jar. Repeat this process until the coconut paste has lost its flavor.
- 4). Pour the liquid squeezed from the coconut paste into the jar, and set it by a sunny window. In two days, pour off the virgin coconut oil that has separated from the watery liquid beneath it. Use for cooking or as a natural moisturizer for your hair or skin.
