How to Troubleshoot Nikon 80-200 2.8D

    • 1). Pause for a moment to allow the viewfinder to stop vibrating before depressing the shutter release button to take a picture.

    • 2). Verify that the vibration reduction is set to the "Normal" selection. The normal selection reduces vertical vibration when panning from left to right.

    • 3). Turn the camera back on if it is making a chattering noise when it is turned off. The chattering noise is caused when the vibration reduction is left on. Move the mode switch for the vibration reduction to the "Off" position before turning off the camera.

    • 4). Check your type of camera if the vibration reduction is not working when then flash is recycling. This will occur only with the F80/N80, F75/N75, F65N65, D100 and D70 camera models. Wait for the flash to finish recycling before taking another picture or turn the vibration reduction feature off.

    • 5). Turn the AF-start button to the "Off" position if it is turned on when using vibration reduction. The vibration reduction will not work when the AF-start button has been turned on.
