Camcorder is an electronic gadget that is a video camera recorder.
It is a device with combination of both video camera and video recorder.
It is designed in such a way that it gives out the best in video capturing with ultimate improved technologies, distinguishing itself from other video capturing devices like cell phone, digital camera, etc.

Some brand provides you an option of XL interchangeable lens system.
Imager: Either CCD or CMOS sensor.
There are 3 CCD sensors each for 3 primary colors resulting in superior picture quality, absolute color reproduction and highly suitable for low light conditions where the signal conversion is analog to digital.
But it has been replaced by CMOS where the signal is digital in nature and not much suited in low light conditions.
Recorder: Supports HD/SD multi format, multi codec recording capabilities with superior reliability, immediate playback and recording at 30 or 24 frames/second.
Apart from this you can expect the display along with time, year, date etc.

Mostly all camcorders come with basic video editing program.
