DUI Accident - What Kind of Trouble Are You In?

Have you been involved in a DUI accident that had you getting the DUI? Do you want to know what type of penalties you are facing? There are different types of things they can charge you with if you were drinking and driving plus you got into an accident with another car.
Here are some of the penalties you could face.
It all depends on if you injured the other person, killed them, had a passenger, and what your blood alcohol level was.
The higher the blood alcohol level the worse the penalties will be.
Let's assume first that nobody was injured, you did not have a passenger and you were just over the legal limit.
In this case you are probably going to spend 30 days in jail, maybe 60, get probation, have your license suspended for a year, and you will get some hefty fines.
Not to mention you will struggle to get car insurance after you get your license back.
This is about what most judges like to give out in this situation because you did hit someone else.
Now, let's assume that your DUI accident involved someone getting injured.
You could face many years in jail for this because this could be considered attempted murder or at least endangering another person.
The judges like to be very harsh on these cases especially if the injury was life altering.
You will probably also be sued by the family of the victim for millions of dollars.
Last, let's assume you killed someone.
This would be a fatal DUI accident and you will spend at least 10 years in jail.
You will have to be on your best behavior and really work hard to get parole before you have been in prison for 10 years.
This could be a 15 to life or a 25 to life term for you and you better get used to prison food.
