What My Doctor Told Me About Hemorrhoids
This is actually a true story about what my doctor, well, actually a couple of doctors, told me about hemorrhoids.
See, I used to be a long time sufferer (over 10 years) and before I finally beat this terrible condition I had been to a couple of specialists because I was at the end of my rope.
I was hoping for some comforting news but little was to be found.
In fact, I was more discouraged than anything after my sessions with these "professionals.
" I sometimes wonder why doctors charge so much since most of them aren't worth a hill of beans.
But I digress.
Let me get to the facts, at least as they pertained to my condition.
Let's start with the good news.
Hemorrhoids do NOT lead to cancer.
I know a lot of people are concerned about that so I wanted to get that little tidbit out of the way.
If you are suffering from hemorrhoids, either internal or external, you don't have to worry about them leading to colon cancer.
That doesn't mean you won't get colon cancer from something else.
It just means that the hemorrhoids themselves won't cause it.
That's the good news.
But that's about all of it.
On the bad news front, there really is no "cure" for hemorrhoids.
Well, at least that's what they told me.
The only way to actually be rid of them is through surgery.
The problem with surgery is that it's painful and it's not a 100% guarantee.
The condition may return; you may have complications from surgery; you may develop other problems from surgery such as incontinence.
I was also told that there were alternative treatments such as rubber banding which isn't as painful as surgery, though I have heard others tell me this is a load of bull.
The problem with rubber banding is that the failure rate on external hemorrhoids, which is what I have, is quite high.
I don't remember the exact percentage as it was so long ago when I went for my diagnosis, but it was around a 67% success rate.
That, to me, wasn't something to be overly hopeful about.
In addition to all that, I was told that my external hemorrhoids were stage 4, which is as bad as it gets, thus explaining why I was in such terrible pain after moving my bowels.
At stage 4, I was pretty much told that my only hope for relief was surgery.
In the meantime, I was told to take petroleum jelly, put on my palm and push the hemorrhoids back in after I moved my bowels.
Well, let me tell you, all I managed to do when attempting this was to make them bleed.
So I pretty much scrapped that idea.
In short, the doctors gave me very little hope and I was at the end of my rope.
I had spent hundreds of dollars on visits that were essentially for nothing.
I was back to where I started from.
Fortunately, and it took me 10 years, I found relief and I am now pain free.
Technically, I am not cured.
But it doesn't matter because I almost don't even know I have hemorrhoids anymore.
A minute after I move my bowels and there is some sensation (it's not even discomfort anymore) I am back to my normal self.
If you want to read how I did it, there is a free report in my signature.
It's not long.
It's only 10 pages but I am sure it will change your life.
You don't have to live with the pain of hemorrhoids anymore.
