Flexor Tendon Ganglion

The Ganglion is the most common soft tissue of the hand and the cysts occur at specific locations on the hand wrist.
These are usually harmless and painless and can rupture by them selves but in some cases they may cause numbness in the hand and may hinder the hand movement.
These ganglion cysts usually occur in the dorsal and volar wrist regions and the third most common type is that one that is called the digital flexor tendon sheath which arises from the first annular pulley.
The fingers bent due to the flexor muscles that push or pull the tendons that attach to the muscle of the bone to be moved.
These flexor muscles bring up near the elbow or upper forearm and become tendons half way down.
The muscles that bend and flex the finger are found in the forearm that helps to bend them.
The thumb has one long flexor muscle.
The flexor muscles move the fingers though cord like extensions called tendons which connect the muscles to the bone, which helps the tendons to move the fingers and also guides them to move.
These muscles help to move the fingers easily through cord like extensions called tendons, which also connect the muscle to the bone.
In the finders the tendons pass through fibrous rings that are called pulley's and deep cuts on the palm side of the wrist, hand and fingers can injure the flexor tendons , nerves and blood vessels.
Though the injury may look simple on the outside but inside it sure has created complications and these tendon acts like a rubber band and its tendons pull away from each other.
The best treatment for these muscle tendons is through the surgical Excision.
The patients were examined by the doctor and were given examination test required for the surgery.
The cyst and the liquid content were totally removed and the incision was stitched up.
As the tendons are made up of cells if they are brought back together they will heal.
As the tendons usually break apart when they are injured they will not heal without surgery.
The type of treatment for each surgery depends on the type of cut .
And after surgery when the tendon is repaired the patients hand movement is restricted and they are tied closed together as the tendons cab break apart and after surgery usually therapy is recommended.
After four to five weeks you can move your fingers but full recovery will occur after full three months.
Though after surgery people require hand therapy to facilitate their recovery.
The hand therapy is also recommended to soften scars and building up grip strength.
These are the important facts that should be noted and the treatment should be done because if it is neglected these simple problems and become very complicated in the process.
You do all your work with your hand and a little defect in them will surely cause you problems so teat these in time and you will be safe.
