I Struggled With MLMs For Years
I believe my first experience with multi-level marketing was back in 1985, the company I was with was called Princess House.
I first got acquainted with Princess House when a friend of my sister gave a party.
I wanted just about everything in the brochure.
At this time I was newly married 7 months pregnant with a 3yr old at home.
Money was short and that crystal was calling out to me.
I signed up immediately to become a distributor.
I did not do very well with that company a couple of sign ups and 2or 3 parties, what little money I did make I used to buy more crystal.
I was so obsessed with the stuff, after giving birth to my daughter by c-section as soon as I was released from the hospital I went over to my sister's house and gave a party so I could finish paying for my starter kit.
I was either completely crazy or I was really really committed.
As time went on it seemed every couple of years or so I'd sign up with another multi-level marketing company, when I needed extra money or I was fed up with my job.
Some of these companies were I don't like to use the word scams but they were not very good ones.
There was one company I worked with that had terrific nutritional products and a very good compensation plan.
As they say about multi-level marketing if your not one of the pioneers you're probably not going to get rich, and I did not.
When I'd stick with a company for a while a year or two I'd actually had some success, but the time and effort I was putting in did not seem worth it to me.
It seemed I was always one step behind.
I'd talk to a prospect about the business or a particular product I truly believed in 9 times out of ten they had heard of the business opportunity or had a family member that was always trying to get them to buy something, join something, and they just had a negative attitude about the whole industry.
This did not stop me I could be pretty determined when I believed in a company or had a passion for one of its products.
Fortunately I had a loving and supportive husband that always had my back.
After being involved with many multi-level marketing companies over the years, I decided there had to be something better out there.
Something I was not going to have to ask my friends and family to purchase or get involved in, just to keep my business alive.
I got online and started looking for home based business opportunities.
An online store seemed to be the right fit for me, so I began by setting up my own web site.
That was a complete disaster.
I did not know what I was doing and the customer service department was not much help to me.
Finally I found a company that would develop the web site for me and also had product for me to sell.
This excited me very much I though I was finally on my way.
Dealing with drop ship companies was not at all what I'd expected, the ones that supplied the products were very expensive and no room for mark ups.
Others were not even drop ship companies.
But rather gave you quality list of drop shippers, expected you to have lines of credit and to be a well established online store.
At this point I was very frustrated what seemed to be so great at first, died out fairly quickly.
Today I work with a company that understands and supports its online partners, a step by step system that simply makes you money.
A marketing system where everything is on auto pilot, just plug in and profit quickly.
It can work with any product or service.
This is a online business plan that combines flexibility as well as go-anywhere access of online marketing and the residual income that network marketing can provide.
Bugging family members, using Memory Joggers and the 10 ft Rule are no longer the main ingredients in Network Marketing today.
Spending your hard earned money and valuable time still are.
This is an industry of business owner who have no prior business experience, so there is always going to be a learning curve.
We have an industry of people who are not salesman being told to go out and sell.
There is something wrong with that picture.
Your mother or sister may listen to your sells pitch, or buy your product maybe even sign up with you.
Most times this is out of kindness they want to help you out in your business.
The majority of people do not.
They see you as someone who wants something from them.
Remember no one wants to be sold too.
If you have a belief in your product or business opportunity your prospect will see and feel that.
Enthusiasm is a very powerful thing.
Unfortunately being able to get your prospects excited is not enough, if you want them to become part of your business or purchase your product ongoing.
Looking at it from your prospects point of view, they want to know what's in it for them.
Showing benefits is what you want to do.
By asking your prospects or associates the right questions and getting the prospect involved, they make their own decision to purchase or to join your business opportunity.
Not as a prospect but a potential business partner.
There is an old Chinese proverb that says "tell me, and I will forget.
Show me, and I may remember.
Involve me, and I will understand.
" Educating yourself is key in this Industry.
there are many online coaches that provide training to help you get started.
