- 1). Connect your iPod to your computer via the iPod's USB cable. Open iTunes.
- 2). Open "Prefences" from the "File" menu. Open the "Advanced" tab and enable "Copy files to iTunes folder when adding to library." Select "Apply" and "OK" to save the changes.
- 3). Highlight the iPod within iTunes, select the “Summary” tab and select “Enable Disk Mode.” Click “Apply.” Quit iTunes.
- 4). Open the “Control Panel” via Vista's "Start" menu. Select “Classic View.” Open “Folder Options” and select the “View” tab. Enable “Show hidden files and folders,” click “Apply” and “OK” to save the changes.
- 5). Open “My Computer” and open the iPod listed under the connected drives.
- 6). Locate and open the “iPod_Control” folder.
- 7). Re-open iTunes.
- 8). Drag the “Music” folder within “iPod_Control” on the iPod into your iTunes library. iTunes will process the files and add them to your music library on you Windows Vista machine.
