- 1). Connect your iPod to your computer and open iTunes.
- 2). Allow iTunes to automatically recognize the iPod device. When the iPod screen opens in iTunes, select the "Summary" tab and then make sure that the box next to "Manually manage music and videos" is checked. Click "OK" when the "Disabling automatic update requires manually unmounting the iPod before each disconnect" dialog box comes up.
- 3). Quit iTunes and keep your iPod plugged into your computer.
- 4). Locate the iPod device on your computer's desktop or in the "My Computer" menu. Double click the device to open its folder.
- 5). Select the contents of the iPod that you want to reverse transfer, right click and select "Copy."
- 6). Navigate to the folder where you want to store the selected contents, right click and select "Paste." The files will automatically transfer from your iPod to your computer.
