How to Check for Viruses on Flashdrives
- 1). Download Spyware Doctor using the link under "Resources." Double click the installation EXE and follow the instructions on your screen to complete the installation.
- 2). Connect the flash drive you want to check for viruses to your computer. Wait until it is detected by the machine.
- 3). Double click the Spyware Doctor program icon to start the program.
- 4). Click "Smart Update" to ensure that you have the most up-to-date virus definition library.
- 5). Click the "Start Scan" button and select "Custom Scan."
- 6). Click "Select drives and folders to scan." Select the flash drive. Sometimes it is listed by the name of the flash drive; however, it can also be named "Removable disk."
- 7). Click "Scan Now" once your drive is selected. Your flash drive will be scanned for viruses. If any are found, you will be asked if you want them removed. Simply click "Yes" to remove them.
