Social Media Optimization - "What Doesn"t Work Now?"

Social Media Optimization is a hot topic today.
I have seen new Internet marketers frustrated from the huge learning curves found in the industry.
Knowing what works for Internet marketers and what doesn't.
Mike Dillard, who created Magnetic Sponsoring is one of the more honest marketers.
I can appreciate his direct approach to the problem.
His new strategy called, "What's Working Now" has been helpful.
Let's break down my Dillard's version of "what's not working now" and clear up a few things: 1.
Automated products by the so called gurus are not worth the money.
Most social media platforms are on to these non-interactive programs.
2.
Spamming your business via articles, videos, forum posts, or simple podcasts.
Most people on the Internet don't know when they are spamming.
Provide value with entertainment, education, and inspiration.
I like to provide free Twitter training using some free tools.
It helps marketers get out of the gate with some real results.
3.
Dropping people because they don't join your business.
I have met the most amazing people on the planet via Internet marketing.
They have provided me friendship, training, insight, and real value.
I think they are such excellent friends because they are like me.
Probably the same kind of crazy people I would hang out with in a bar, restaurant, or sporting event.
4.
Take a backseat with your following.
Don't get me wrong, leaders need followers.
Followers also need leaders that take a stand.
I have been ridiculed for going after the small fish and not the big ones.
Let me tell you a little secret; there are lots more little fish than big.
I am taking new people interested in Internet marketing and making them mini-marketers first.
That is one reason so many people fail in the industry.
(no marketing skills) I am reversing the trend.
5.
Quantity is not necessarily the best road to take these days.
People will send out 10 poorly made videos on YouTube in one shot and wonder why they suck.
One quality made video or article will go a long way.
I am not a big fan of thousand of twitter followers that mean nothing.
I would rather target my niche market of real people having similar interests.
Once you learn how to target these followers, your leads improve and then your sales.
There are some excellent leaders out there to help you have success.
You just have to get past the spammers, noise makers, and fruitcakes.
Creating good content, natural conversations, and simply being real are not going away.
Social Media Optimization makes sense if done right.
