How to Make a Ruby Red Margarita

    • 1). Rub the edge of the margarita glass with a cut ruby red grapefruit wedge. Dip the rim of the cocktail glass in kosher salt spread out on a plate or in a special margarita salt container.

    • 2). Remove any excess salt from below the rim of the glass if desired and fill the glasses halfway with ice.

    • 3). Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with crushed ice or ice cubes. Add the tequila, fresh lime juice, ruby red grapefruit juice, Cointreau and a dash of simple syrup. Cover the cocktail shaker and shake vigorously for 10 to 15 seconds.

    • 4). Strain the contents of the cocktail shaker into the margarita glass. Garnish the rim of the cocktail glass with a fresh ruby red grapefruit slice and a lime wedge. Serve immediately before the ice melts.
