5 Things To Do Near Lake Granbury This Spring

Lake Granbury is 33 miles of scenic beauty with five public boat ramps, two fishing piers, and four camping areas where you and your family can hang out just for the day or pitch tents for an overnight stay.
Visitors to Granbury who aren't there for cruising in a boat can swim, set up a picnic or fish in a place where striped bass, White bass, Largemouth bass, Crappie, Sunfish, and Catfish are plentiful.
Lake Granbury isn't the only thing worth visiting.
Granbury is a fun, laid-back town and vacationer's delight, especially in the spring when the weather is warming up but not quite sizzling.
Here are 5 things to do near Lake Granbury this spring.

Live Theater Granbury Theatre Company's productions at the Granbury Opera House and Granbury Live are presented using the original scripts as they were performed on Broadway.
Built in 1886, the Opera House was restored and reopened its doors to professional, live theater in 1975.
GTC's primary focus is producing musicals and comedies.
The main show season consists of 8 to 10 productions a year, each running 16 to 40 performances over five to six weekends.

Downtown Granbury Granbury Square provides a central gathering place for entertainment, civic life and commerce.
But mostly it's a classy, fun, historical place filled with landmarks and charm.
The majestic Hood County Courthouse has been lovingly restored.
The Opera House is there as are many shops and full service hotels all within a walking distance of a beach.
This is the Granbury's hub.

Barking Rocks Vineyard and Winery The winery is located on part of what was previously the Helen Knox cattle ranch.
The cattle barn was converted into the winery.
On the side of the winery is the former HK insignia formed with rocks that was the ranch's cattle brand.
The converted barn is also Barking Rocks production space and event center.
Visitors can come by for wine tasting or listening to live music the first Friday of every month.

Fall Creek Farms An afternoon at Fall Creek Farms is fun and memorable.
Each Spring Cullen and Ashley Crisp open Fall Creek Farms for the public to come and pick their own fruits.
The spring is great for strawberries.
Giant two-acre patch of more than 17,000 Chandler and Sequoia plants.
Return in the summer where you can roam 10 acres and 500 trees of delicious, juicy peaches.

Glen Rose It may not be in Granbury, but it's not that far.
Glen Rose features the Dinosaur Valley State Park where you can see giant dinosaur prints.
You can play in the river, hike along the trails or bike.
There's also Fossil Rim Wildlife Center where, among other things, you can drive through a wild animal preserve and marvel at zebras, giraffes, antelopes, llamas and ostriches.
There's also the Hood County Museum and Railroad Depot Museum.
