The Lola Ponce Story

Ms Lola Ponce was born June 25, 1982 to Hector and Maríain in Capitán Bermúdez, a town which is part of Gran Rosario, Argentina.
She has two siblings, Claudia and Alejandro.
Being raised in a musical family, she formed a duo with her brother when she was only 3, performing folklore songs.
Young Lola took part in festivals throughout Argentina and Latin America as child, then as a teenager.
Her professional career began to blossom when in 1998, she landed a role in Chiquititas, a popular TV series.
Lola signed a recording contract with producer Oscar Mediavilla in 1999 and by 2001 she released her first album Inalcanzable.
A year later in 2002, she was casted in Notre Dame de Paris - Live Arena di Verona as Esmeralda for the Italian version.
She moved then to Italy for her role in the artistic and linguistic comedy that was an unprecedented success.
In 2003 she began recording the disc Fearless, which came out in 2004 and was a success.
In 2005 she participated in the Sanremo Festival, as a guest, with the song Sleep.
Lola made her breakthrough in to American film in 2006 with her role in Powder.
One thing that most people do not know is that her songs were played as the soundtrack of that movie.
More recently, she stared in the Grande Fratello show.
In 2008, she won the Sanremo Festival in pairs with Giò Di Tonno, (who she had known since her days at Notre Dame de Paris), with the lightning hit song, written by Gianna Nannini.
With the victory she became the first and so far only foreign singer to have won the Sanremo Festival.
Everyone from Italy to Hollywood knows this young talent is going places and are all looking forward to see much more of her efforts.
In recent interviews she has expressed a great level of education as well as enthusiasm.
Although this is not typical among young girls working as actresses and singers, Lola seems to have more of a working girls attitude with the charm of a princess.
On a personal note, we really enjoy this earthy Latin performer.
We know that she will go on to do great things in her life, whether she's writing a book or performing a Broadway show.
If the past is any indication, there is no doubt that she can do whatever she wants, and she will do it well.
