How to Clean & Adjust Space Heaters

    • 1). Turn off the space heater and unplug it from the power supply.

    • 2). Use a clean, damp cloth to wipe down the outside of the unit to remove excess dirt and grime. If there is grease or other stubborn material on the unit exterior, apply some grease household cleaner to a clean cloth and use it to wipe away the substance.

    • 3). Open the front access panel of the space heater, if possible. Use a small vacuum to suction out excess dirt and debris from inside the space heater. Be certain to vacuum out dirt and dust from the grills on the sides of the space heater as well. Follow by wiping down the inside of the unit with a clean, damp cloth. If it is not possible to open the space heater, use the vacuum to suction dirt from the grills on the side of the unit.

    • 4). Close the space heater. Plug the space heater back into the electrical supply and turn the power "On."

    • 5). Adjust the space heater by turning the thermostat up (clockwise) to increase the temperature emitted by the unit and turn the thermostat down (counterclockwise) to lower the temperature. Some space heaters have "Low" "Medium" and "High" heat settings. Choose the lowest possible setting for your heating needs.
