How to Care for Wood Banisters
- 1). Dust the wood banisters regularly with a clean, dry rag.
- 2). Mix 2 cups water with 1/2 tsp. dish soap in a spray bottle. Mist the spray onto a cleaning rag and wipe over the banisters to remove fingerprints, smudges and other residue. Let the wood air dry.
- 3). Spray an oil-based wood cleaner onto a cleaning rag, and wipe over the wood banisters to remove heavier residue. The oil-based cleaner removes oil from large accumulations of fingerprints and other residue. Let the cleaner air dry, and use as needed to keep the banister looking its best.
