- 1). Unload the gun. Remove the magazine and pull back the slide to eject any ammunition. Visually inspect the chamber to ensure a live round does not remain in the gun.
- 2). Check the gun again to ensure it is unloaded. Point the gun downward and pull the trigger to disengage the firing pin.
- 3). Hold the Glock with one hand and pull the slide back with the other. With the thumb and finger of the hand holding the Glock, release the levers located on either side of the gun just below the slide.
- 4). Release the slide forward while holding the release levers. Allow the slide to move forward on the gun until it slides completely off the frame.
