How to Cut Plywood Panels
- 1). Insert a plywood cutting blade into the table saw and tighten it in place. Use a steel ruler and adjust the height of the blade to cut through just the first thickness of veneer. Lock the blade in place.
- 2). Place roller stands on the back side of the table saw to support the panel as you feed it through the saw. Dry run the panel through the saw if you need to determine where to place them.
- 3). Lay the plywood panel on the table of the saw with the best or finished side facing up. Measure and mark the cut using a tape measure and pencil. Mark the cut line with a straight edge and pencil. Score it several times using a utility knife.
- 4). Turn the saw on and feed the panel through the saw in an even motion, moving just fast enough to allow the blade to cut the wood. Turn the saw off once the wood has cleared the blade. This initial cut will help prevent the bottom from splintering.
- 5). Adjust the height of the blade to cut through the entire thickness of the panel. Run the panel through saw again to complete the cut. Remove the cut panel sections from the saw and turn it off.
