- 1). Turn on your digital camera and press the "menu" button to enter the options menu. Navigate to your photograph resolution options. Consult your camera's user manual for how exactly to get there.
- 2). Select your camera's maximum usable resolution. Since your desktop image will be much larger than a regular photograph, maximizing the photograph's resolution will ensure a high quality wallpaper image.
- 3). Take a picture of you and your friend.
- 4). Plug the USB cord that came with your camera into your computer. When the Windows 7 "AutoPlay" menu comes up, select "Import pictures and videos using Windows."
- 5). Write down the folder the dialogue box says Windows will import the photographs to, then click "Import." Windows will then import the images on your camera to your hard disk.
- 6). Open the Windows Control Panel. Under the "Personalization" options, select "Desktop Background." On the location pull down menu, select "Other," and navigate to the directory holding your buddy picture.
- 7). Select the picture from the list of files in that directory, and double click on that file. Your wallpaper will now be set to that image.
