How to Clear a Minolta QMS "Replace OPC Drum" Error Message
- 1). Turn off your Minolta printer and unplug it.
- 2). Open the front door that gives you access to the drum cartridge.
- 3). Locate the toner bottle handle and gently pull it out. Lift the toner bottle and pull it out of the printer. Keep the toner bottle in a secured place.
- 4). Locate the OPC drum release lever inside the printer. You should recognize it from the label. Push the lever down to release the drum cartridge. Pull the cartridge out of the printer. Store it in a secured place if you plan to donate the cartridge for any local recycling programs. Otherwise, dispose it in the trashcan.
- 5). Take the new cartridge out of its packaging.
- 6). Slide the drum cartridge into the empty drum cartridge slot. Once the cartridge sits firmly in the slot, pull the protective sheet off the cartridge. Push the release lever up to lock the drum cartridge.
- 7). Place the toner bottle back in its original position. Push the top part of the toner bottle until it clicks into place.
- 8). Close the front door of the printer. Plug in the printer and power it up. The error message will not appear anymore.
