Instructions

• 1). Plug the smart-card reader into a power outlet.
  
  
• 2). Turn off your computer.
  
  
• 3). Place a USB data cable into the USB port located on the smart card reader, and then insert the other side of the cable into the USB port on your computer. The system on your computer will detect that a new removable device has been detected.
  
  
• 4). Insert a CD for driver installation into the computer and wait for the wizard to load up. Follow the prompts displayed on your desktop to complete the process. If the wizard does not appear, complete the following steps.
  
  
• 5). Click the "Start" button, typically located on the far left hand corner of the screen. Click on the "My Computer" icon and then click on "Manage."
  
  
• 6). Click "Services and Application" and then click "Services."
  
  
• 7). Right click on "Smart Card" and then click on "Properties"
  
  
• 8). Select the "General" tab click on "Automatic" in the "Start-up Type" drop-down list. Click on the "OK" button.
  
  
• 9). Reboot your computer if instructed to do so by the hardware wizard.

  Take the driver installation CD out of your computer; now insert the software installation CD. This is the software that you must use for the card reader to operate properly. It gives the reader instructions on how to perform as well as storing data to the computer. When the installation wizard appears on your screen, read the terms and conditions and accept the license agreement. Now follow the remaining steps for complete installation.
