How to Modify a PDF With Adobe

    • 1). Open the PDF in the Adobe Acrobat application.

    • 2). Click the "Document" option from the top navigation menu.

    • 3). Select the "Recognize Text Using OCR" option from the context menu located under Documents.
      If the document already contains rendered text, a notification will appear.

    • 4). Click "OK" to start the text recognition scan. The OCR engine will recognize image characters and convert them to text. When encountered with an ambiguous character, the OCR engine presents an input box.

    • 5). Type the correct character or word into the input box and click "OK". Repeat for each ambiguous selection until the OCR recognition scan is complete.

    • 6). Click the "Tools" option from the top navigation menu.

    • 7). Select the "Advanced Editing" option from the context menu.

    • 8). Select the "TouchUp Text Tool" from the submenu. Using this tool, text in the PDF may be selected and directly edited, maintaining the font and formatting of the PDF.

    • 9). Click the "File" option from the top navigation menu.

      Click "Save" to save the PDF when finished editing.
