How to Make a Twitter Background
- 1). Find an image where the subject is on the left or right edge. The middle of the image will be covered by Twitter information, so only the left and right edges of the image will be visible. You can use a program such as Microsoft Paint to crop the subject from an image and save it as its own file. When you load the file as a background, the subject will appear on the left side of the Twitter page. You can also create a graphic from scratch, focusing on the left and right sides of the image and leaving the center blank.
- 2). Visit the Twitter website and log in to your account.
- 3). Click on your username in the top right corner of the screen. Select "Settings" from the drop-down menu.
- 4). Click the "Design" tab at the top of the "Settings" screen. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the "Change Background Image" button. Click the "Browse" button that appears and a Windows Explorer window will open.
- 5). Go to the image file that you want to use as your background. Select the file and choose "Open." Click the box next to "Tile Background" if you want to use one small image to create a tiled background. Click "Save Changes" to make the change. Your background will flash to black, then the new image will appear, along with a box at the top of the screen confirming that the change is complete.
