- 1
Starting from scratch
Open the Microsoft Word 2007 application. Go to the upper-left hand corner to "Open" a new document. Click on "File." Click on "New" to view the list of templates available. It is here that you have the option of using one of the templates that come with the program or downloading one from Microsoft.com. - 2
Choosing a template
Click the "Templates on Office Online" option to view the available templates, then on "Brochures" to go to the Microsoft.com brochures options page. Click on the brochure template of your choice. - 3
Working on and saving the template
By clicking on your chosen template, a new browser will open with an enlarged view of the template. Click on the "Download" button and your brochure will open in a new Word document. Save the template to your hard drive by clicking on "File" and then "Save As".
Select the sample text in the section you will work on to delete the text. Upon doing this, the brochure should be ready for customizing. - 4
Changing paragraph style and pictures
Change the style of the paragraph by selecting the text. To do this, position your cursor anywhere in the paragraph, then select a style from the "Style" list on the "Formatting" option in your toolbar.
Change the picture by clicking it to select it, then click "Insert," then "Picture," then "From File" to choose a replacement picture. - 5
Ready for printing
Once you are done customizing the brochure, it is time to print it. Go to "File." Click "Print" and choose to print only the first page. After printing, flip the page over and insert it back into the printer, choosing to print only the second page. By doing so, you will have both sides of the page printed. Once printing is done, fold it according to the template's design.
