Yelapa Playa Mexicana Infuses Mexican Cuisine With A Worldwide Flavor

Yelapa Playa Mexicana is a prospering restaurant in the downtown Houston area. Despite the strong competition from other fine eateries in the region, Yelapa manages to stand head and shoulders above the rest in terms of dcor, food and beverages as well as the highest quality service. Chuck Bulnes is the owner of Yelapa and believes the key to great service is for management to adopt a hands-on approach. This he says, allows them to not only taste the cuisine that patrons will be dining on, but also enables them to analyze the morale of the staff. Even the most talented chefs and waiters will be unable to perform to the levels that customers deserve if they are low in confidence.

A Rising Star
Top food critic Alison Cook, described Yelapa as having "the makings of something special" and did not hesitate to include it in her top 10 new restaurants of 2009. The meals served in Yelapa combine traditional Mexican fare such as Tacos with touches of the Orient in the form of licorice-scented Thai basil.

Diversity
This diversity of cuisine, coupled with its location in downtown Houston (Richmond) in the vicinity of numerous office buildings makes it the ideal place for a flavor filled lunch. This gives workers the energy to finish off the day with a spring in their step. The lunch menu is wonderfully varied with light dishes to whet the appetite (Caesar de Yelapa) or enormous meals to fill the hole in your stomach that has been in need of attention since breakfast (The Whole Enchilada). There are also lunch specials which greatly reduce the already competitive prices.

Dinner Date
Whether you are just finishing work and cannot get home for dinner or else you are looking to dine out at the weekend, Yelapa is the perfect place thanks to its late operating hours (Tuesday to Thursday 10pm, Friday-Saturday 11pm and Sunday 8pm). Like with the lunch menu, dinner offers a host of choices (over 40 dishes) as well as beverages both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. There are few better ways to unwind after a hard day's work or enjoy a relaxing weekend than by indulging in a chicken taco and Tecate beer.

As Yelapa is becoming increasingly popular, booking a reservation is recommended though the staff are always delighted to see customers walk in and see what all the fuss is about. This restaurant aims to make every customer a regular and treat their palate with flavors from all around the globe while always maintaining its Mexican core.
