How to Make a PDF Into a Smaller File
- 1). Download a zip software if you do not currently have one installed on your system. WinZip.com offers a free trial version.
- 2). Launch the zip software. The program either has a desktop icon or you can open the program by clicking "Start," "All Programs" and then the software tab.
- 3). Click-and-drag the PDF file into the zip program.
- 4). Click "Browse" next to the save location. Typically you can find this at the bottom of the program window. Select where you want to save the information on your computer and click "OK."
- 5). Click the "Zip" (or "Compress") button on the side of the program and the zip program compresses the PDF file into a smaller file.
