Mozilla Firefox System Requirements

    • Mozilla Firefox is a free open source web browser distributed by Mozilla. It includes security features, accepts various add-ons and allows complete privacy while surfing the web. If you would like to try the browser you first need to check whether your computer meets the system requirements for the Firefox to run properly.

    PC

    • Mozilla Firefox works with Windows 2000, Server 2003, XP, Vista and 7. The application needs a Pentium processor with a speed of at least 233 MHz; 500 MHz recommended. You also need RAM (Random Access Memory) of at least 64 MB (128 MB recommended). Free hard disk space requirement is 52 MB.

    Mac

    • Mac users with need either Mac OS X 10.4 or later as an operating system; an Intel x86 or PowerPC G3, G4, or G5 processor; 128 MB or RAM (256 MB recommended); and 200 MB of available space on the hard drive.

    Linux

    • Since Linux is an open source freeware, Mozilla Firefox requirements differ depending on which type of operating system you use. However, Mozilla Firefox requires the following libraries and packages to run on a Linux machine: GTK+ 2.10 or higher, GLib 2.12 or higher, Pango 1.14 or higher, X.Org 1.0 or higher. The following packages are recommended for best results: NetworkManager 0.7 or higher, DBus 1.0 or higher, HAL 0.5.8 or higher, GNOME 2.16 or higher.
