How to Troubleshoot a KitchenAid Ice Maker Shutoff Bar

- 1). Remove any frozen debris from the wire shutoff bar, also known as the shutoff arm. Food and ice can get stuck around the bar. Chip away tough, frozen ice or debris from the wire arm with a plastic utensil.
- 2). Remove the ice bin underneath the wire shutoff bar, and clear out all ice if the buildup of cubes is preventing you from moving the wire bar.
- 3). Lower the KitchenAid ice maker's wire shutoff bar to turn on the unit.
- 4). Lift the wire shutoff bar up until you hear it "click" to turn the ice maker off.
- 5). Allow 24 hours for the ice bin to refill with ice once all cubes have been emptied from the bin.
