Best Halloween Costumes Are Made From the Closet

Halloween has come again, and we will be scrambling to find the best costume for ourselves or our children.
There is so much out there and to choose from, but most of the costumes you buy are cheaply made.
Your lucky if they survive the night! Making costumes from items at home is quite easy, and just takes minutes.
These ideas work great if your looking to save money, or if its a last minute party.
Read on to see a few of my great ideas for some of the best costumes from home.
So why spend money on costumes when you can make it from items at home? Heck, you can use the money you save for buying more candy and goodies (yummy).
Sure, you are limited on what you can make from home, but you can still pull it off.
Your homemade costume idea may even be an original one for your child, or for the office after hours party.
One of the most simplest and favorites of mine is the Hobo Costume.
All you really have to do is put on some old mix matched clothing.
I use two different socks, a stick with a bandanna tied at the end for holding candy, an old brown trench coat that was my Fathers.
You don't have to stop there either.
A bottle in a brown paper bag, an old worn hat, and don't forget to put some ash, or use some charcoal to make a quick beard (you don't have to worry about irritating makeup either).
Holy shoes and pants, and even a cardboard sign can be helpful (write a funny catchphrase on it).
Another idea is the Tourist.
This is also very easy, just make sure you look like the stereo typed tourist by wearing a flashy shirt(tropical if you have it), straw hat works nice as do sunglasses, and take a camera for around your neck.
If you have any maps(or can make a fake one), pop it out of your pocket.
Shorts (weather permitting), sandals, and a Hawaiian lei work great too.
A fun costume for Halloween (more for a party) is dressing up as a geek or nerd.
If you have some old glasses, tape the center to make it look tacky.
If they are old prescriptions pop the lenses out(you can do this with old sunglasses too).
Button up shirt and slacks are a must for my costume.
I tuck one of the pant legs in one of my socks for a geeky effect.
A piece of toilet paper stuck to your sure (or out of your pants zipper) can get some laughs.
In my shirt, make sure it has a pocket and stuff it with a calculator, pens, pocket protector (you can make from a piece of cardboard), and anything else that would get attention.
This costume gets a lot of attention if your on a dance floor too, just bust the nerdiest moves you can! One of the best ones I love is the Greek God look.
You can just throw on a sheet (wrapped and pinned appropriately, wear some sandals, and if you or your spouse has any glittery makeup or spray, put a dab on your face.
I made a wreath out of some vine in the garden for my head, and I carried an old goblet I had around.
Make sure you act all knowing at the party too, because it helps to make the whole outfit go together.
