How to Make Your Own Ringtones Software
- 1). Download and install iTunes. Agree to the licensing terms and open.
- 2). Click "File" and choose "Add to Library" to locate the file you want converted and open it in iTunes.
- 3). Click "iTunes" and select "Preferences." Click the "Import Settings" button to choose an encoder ("AAC Encoder," "MP3 Encoder," etc.) based on your needs.
Click "OK" twice and exit to the iTunes library. - 4). Right-click your song file and choose the "Create AAC Version," "Create MP3 Version," etc., for whichever encoder you selected. Your new version will appear below your old file.
- 5). Right-click your new file and click "Get Info." Click the "Options" tab and enable the "start" and "stop" time boxes. Select your desired "start" and "stop" times, based on the amount of time your phone allows for ringtones.
Click "OK." - 1). Follow Steps 1 through 3 and select "AAC Encoder" from the "Import Using:" options.
- 2). Right-click your song in the iTunes library and select "Create AAC Version."
- 3). Right-click your new file and select "Get Info." Click the "Options" tab and set your "start" and "stop" times (iPhones allow approximately 40 seconds of ringtone). Click "OK."
- 4). Find your newly created file outside of iTunes, using "Finder" if on a Mac or "My Computer" if on a PC. Manually retype the file extension from M4A to M4R.
- 5). Add the M4R file to your iTunes library. Plug in your iPhone and choose to sync your ringtones.
