- 1). Cut the tip of a tube of concrete-repair caulk at a 45-degree angle with a utility knife.
- 2). Insert the tube of caulk into a caulking gun and apply a thick bead of caulk into cracks wider than 1/2 inch.
- 3). Smooth over the caulk with a putty knife so that it is even with the surface of the pre-existing concrete.
- 4). Pour the entire bag of concrete resurfacer, as well as 2 1/2 quarts of clean tap water, into a 5-gallon plastic bucket and mix with the drill motor for two full minutes.
- 5). Pour the resurfacer over the concrete surface and spread quickly with a flat steel trowel. Aim for a uniform 3/4-inch thickness.
- 6). Texture the surface by sweeping a moist broom over the still-wet concrete resurfacer.
- 7). Let the driveway dry fully for 24 hours before using.
