Is Google Adwords still a profitable exercise?

If you can't make it work you will be lacking two important strategies. The first of those strategies is finding a niche, this in itself is a difficult exercise. You may find searching for a niche could take weeks and weeks of research. But there is an answer.

The basic principle behind finding a niche is to track the keywords for a subject and see how much competition there is. A more time served professional of Google Adwords may not need such a specific requirement as they are able to defeat many other advertisers and rank higher; not necessarily by just bidding higher.

However for a beginner, the lack of competition is an important requirement to ease the burden of succeeding. Of course what Adwords can achieve is that you rank at the top of page one on Google, albeit on the right hand side. Such positioning can receive anything from 5 - 500 clicks a day. Some webmaster work years to get their website into the top 10 of Google and the Adwords system gets you there in 5 minutes.

Ideally if you are starting out you need to progress slowly until you understand the procedure and what to do when you start earning money for the first time. Getting clicks off Google is a relatively easy target to reach, it is what you do with them that counts.

If you do not have a good 'sales page', then people will be visiting your site and clicking the back button before you know it...

The second factor...

If you do not manage to get above 0.50% for your 'click-through-rate'; then you will get the infamous 'Google Slap'. This is where your cheap advertising costs of say $0.16 per click, suddenly is increased to a minimum bid of $4.00 or $10. Your campaign is temporarily paused until you increase your bid. Meaning of course your campaign has effectively ended.

Some may well have noticed that the Google Slap occurs even before a campaign has gone active. This is down to the Google algorithm and their quality score for your intended landing page. As you proceed through setting up an adwords campaign you will have noticed they send their bot crawling to rate your landing page to determine its quality.

Google need to pre-qualify your page to maintain a high standard of quality and keep both their etiquette and respect intact. They cannot have shoddy advertisers selling scam ideas or half baked individuals trying to earn mega bucks from some lame business concept. This improves the likelihood that Google will get respectable advertisers spending millions.

Although this strategy may sound too difficult for many, there is software on the market that can help with all this detail. Google Goggles being the main contender.

If you have a budget to buy software that helps your business plan proceed faster and also keeps Google at bay and earn you respect as an advertiser. Then Google Goggles is the ideal candidate. Its main functions, is to help you find undiscovered niches, and keep down the cost per click by suggesting improvements to your web sales page to give you a good Google quality score. Give it a test drive.
