How to Hide Text in PowerPoint
- 1). Open Microsoft PowerPoint. Click the "File" tab, click "Open" and browse to the presentation with text to hide. Double-click its file name and, when it opens, scroll to the first slide with text to hide.
- 2). Highlight the text in the text box that you want to hide. Right-click the highlight and select "Font" from the fly-out menu. Click in the "Font color" box and click the white square. Click the "OK" button. The text is still there, but it is hidden because it matches the background color. Note: If you've changed the slide background color or theme, change the font to that color instead.
- 3). Click the "Insert" tab at the top of the work area. Click the "Text Box" button on the Ribbon. When the cursor changes to a plus sign, draw a box over the text to hide. You see the box but can still see the text. Click the "Drawing Tools" tab at the top of the screen. Click the "Shape Fill" button and select white or the background color, which fills the box and hides the text.
- 4). Scroll to a slide with text to hide that also features a picture. Drag the picture over the text. Right-click the picture and select "Bring to Front," then click "Bring to Front" again from the fly-out menu, covering up the text.
- 5). Click the text box that has the text in it. Click the "Animations" tab at the top of the screen. Scroll to the red section of the "Animation" part of the ribbon and click the "Disappear" button. Watch the text disappear from the slide; note that the slide gets a small number on it and a shooting star next to it on the slide deck, signifying that it has an animation.
