How to Change the Panels on Kitchen Cabinets
- 1). Open the old kitchen cabinet doors, exposing the hinges. On some cabinet doors, the hinges will be on the outside.
- 2). Hold the door with one hand underneath it, and unfasten the screws attaching the hinges with a screwdriver.
- 3). Set the old kitchen cabinet door aside and place the hinges and screws in a plastic bag. Repeat Steps 1 through 3 for the remaining cabinet door panels.
- 4). Hold the new kitchen door panels up to the cabinet and align the holes in the hinges with the holes in the sides of the cabinets. If the hinge holes don't match the existing holes in the cabinet, retrieve a drill and drill bit.
- 5). Hold the new cabinet door panel up to the cabinet and flip the hinges open so they rest against the inside of the cabinet. Place the drill bit in the hole and depress the drill trigger for a few seconds to mark the position of each hole.
- 6). Set the cabinet door aside and drill the holes. Repeat the process, if necessary, of marking the hinge holes and drilling new holes. Then hold each door panel up to the cabinets, aligning the hinges with the holes, and fasten the hinges to the cabinets with a screwdriver.
