How Do I Set My Administrator Settings for My WRT300N Router?

    • 1). Connect an Ethernet cable from one of the router's numbered Ethernet ports to your computer's Ethernet port. The connection should automatically be recognized in Windows 7 after several seconds.

    • 2). Type "192.168.1.1" into your Internet browser's address bar and press Enter.

    • 3). Enter your log-in details. If you have not changed the default log-in details, leave the username blank and enter "admin" as the password. Click "OK."

    • 4). Click the "Setup" tab to access basic administrative settings, such as setting the router's IP address.

    • 5). Click the "Wireless" tab to change your wireless settings, including setting up encryption, an SSID name and changing passwords.

    • 6). Click the "Security" tab to access the firewall. This section allows you to filter potentially harmful or privacy-invading elements, such as cookies, Java and ActiveX programming.

    • 7). Select the "Applications & Gaming" tab to configure port-forwarding for specific programs on your computer.

    • 8). Click the "Administration" tab to access administrative settings, specific for your router. This section allows you to change your router's password, restrict access to the administrative utility, perform diagnostics and view logs.
