- 1). Wedge a flat pry bar under the upper right tile situated above the tile you're replacing.
- 2). Apply firm pressure until the tile lifts up. Leave the pry bar there to keep the tile raised.
- 3). Wedge a second flat pry bar under the tile to the left of the tile you're replacing. Leave this pry bar in place as well.
- 4). Slide the tile out. If it is nailed down, remove the nail first with a hammer. Slide the two pry bars in further if there is not enough space to pull out the tile.
- 5). Slide the new tile into the old tile's spot. Insert a new nail if needed. Remove the two pry bars so the tiles fall back into place. They will hold the new tile firmly in place.
