The Bottom Line

While the main demographic for the KleenSlate Paddles are classroom teachers (the company sells them individually, but mostly provides classroom packs), they’re great for home learning, too. Both the markers and the boards stood up to the test of my semi-destructive toddler, over-enthusiastic tween and somewhat careless teenager. They all found creative ways to use the boards, from puppet shows to spelling practice.

These portable paddles hold a lot of learning potential.

I love these boards and my kids do, too! We’ve never had so many polls, puppets and handwriting practice going on in our house. And, me, well, I’m a list maker. I love being able to carry my list from room to room as well as in the car and into the store with me.

Every so often, I find a product that simultaneously makes me slap myself in the head and say “Why didn’t I think of that?” and wish I’d had access to something like it when I was still teaching in the classroom. KleenSlate Dry Erase paddles is definitely one of those products. The paddles, sold by KleenSlate Concepts are lightweight, durable, easy-for-little-hands-to-use portable whiteboards with an attached marker.

KleenSlate makes two shapes of paddles: rectangular and ping-pong paddle. Each of the boards is dual-sided; one side has a plain whiteboard surface, while the other side can have a whiteboard preprinted with handwriting lines, a Venn Diagram or graph paper. Each paddle has a slot which fits a marker with a felt eraser on the cover and you have the option of ordering them with a micro-fiber cleaning cloth attached, too.
