Is This a Sign of Infertility?

You've been waiting a long time to get pregnant and are now beginning to wonder if something you have is a sign of infertility? Signs of infertility vary from woman to woman.
What may be the reason why you haven't gotten pregnant may have no impact on someone else.
So just because your best friend had thus-and-so and couldn't get pregnant doesn't mean you can't get pregnant with the same problem.
You and your friend have a lot of different variables that impact the process of getting pregnant - making the chances of getting pregnant different for each of you.
Before we delve into the signs of infertility, let's get the basic mechanics out of the way.
The first question that needs to be answered in the positive is this: Have you been having unprotected sex at least three times a week for 18 months or longer? If the answer to that question is NO, then rest assured.
95% of all women who are using this schedule to try to get pregnant have accomplished their goal within 24 months.
So the odds really are on your side! If you answered YES, then you should begin to look at some of the broad categories for infertility.
Not Having Your Period/Having Irregular Periods This is the number 1 reason why women are unable to get pregnant - and perhaps the easiest to fix.
Not having your period is a sign of one or two things: 1) Improper hormonal balance in the body.
There are a variety of hormones, all of which have to be in balance with one another, that are required to get you pregnant.
This problem is generally easy to fix using hormone supplementation or time-tested herbs and supplements to regulate the body's hormone levels.
2) Low body fat.
Body fat is used to regulate the sex hormones in the female body.
Women who exercise excessively and reduce their body fat to an unhealthy percentage run the risk of hormonal imbalance.
This is a case where adding some weight will be beneficial! A body fat of 18% is optimal for getting pregnant and staying pregnant.
Have Had Three Successive Miscarriages If you have had three or more successive miscarriages, you need to see you doctor as soon as possible.
The most likely cause of these miscarriages is fertilization of the ova by the sperm later than the 15th day in your cycle.
The reason for this is that the odds of birth defects and/or poor placental placement are much higher after day 15.
That's why fertility experts have long recommended that women avoid getting pregnant after the 15th day of their cycle.
But there are other reasons for successive miscarriage and only a doctor can diagnose the issue as it applies to you and your body.
You may have easily "fixable" structural issues.
So don't waste your time worrying - get checked out! Regardless, 80% of women with two miscarriages will deliver a full-term baby and 60% of women who have had three or more miscarriages will do so as well.
Do You or Your Partner Suffer from a Chronic Disease Diseases like diabetes, thyroid disease or hypertension - to name a few - can make it very difficult to conceive.
The three diseases I named are all treatable.
For the majority of women who have one of these diseases - or who have partners with one of these diseases - conception is possible.
The only way to determine if this is the underlying cause of your not getting pregnant is to have a doctor do a complete infertility assessment.
Regardless of your signs of infertility, worrying about it every month will only make things worse.
Science has thoroughly documented the effect the mind can have on the body - in both positive and negative ways.
So you need to remain positive, relax and enjoy your sex life - if you want to let Mother Nature do her thing.
