Wedding Heels - How High is Too High?
An important question that every bride needs to ask herself is how high she should go for her wedding heels? Every bride wants to look her best on the big day and so she goes through the long and exhausting process of looking for her dress, finding the best makeup woman, picking the veil, determining what to put in her hair, and picking every little detail of her outfit.
One of the most difficult decisions is her wedding shoe.
How high should those heels be? If you are petite like me, you probably want those heels to be as high as possible.
Before you choose those 4 inch or even 5 inch heels, step back and think about a few things.
First, will you be wearing those bridal shoes all day or are you planning to change out of those high heel wedding shoes? Your first reaction is going to be that you will definitely not change out of those heels since you want to wear them all night long.
You will also think that your feet can handle the heels since you are used to wearing those 4 inch and 5 inch heels.
But, one thing you have to remember is that you will be wearing those high heels for a lot longer than you normally wear any heels.
You will start early in the morning with wedding day photos and it will not end.
You will go through walking around and waiting for the ceremony to start, the entire ceremony, and then the reception.
It will be twice as long as you are used to.
Even when you normally go out, you probably only stand in those heels for a few hours.
So, think through that question again.
If you decide that you will change out of your heels, then, consider what flip flops you will buy.
It is very rare to find 4 inch flip flops for you to change out of.
However, if you only buy 2 inch flip flops and you have your dress altered for the 5 inch heel, then your dress will drag on the ground all night and that gorgeous height you achieved with your wedding heels will be lost.
So, unless you find good shoes with high heels to change into, you may want to reconsider those high heel wedding shoes that you planned on buying.
Instead, consider low heel wedding shoes or if you cannot even fathom that, consider wedding shoes of a medium height.
3 inches will still be more comfortable at the end of the day then 4 or 5 inches.
Plus, 3 inch wedding flip flops are a lot easier to find.
