How to Make a Baby Shower Banner From Card Stock
- 1). Lay out 10 pieces of card stock on your work surface. You will use one piece of card stock for each letter in the word “Baby Shower.” You can alter the letters to personalize the banner for the mother-to-be by counting out enough pieces for the mother’s name and the word “shower.” For example, you will need 18 pieces of card stock to make a banner that says, “Rosenya’s Baby Shower.”
- 2). Outline a large baby-themed picture on each piece of card stock using the stencils. For example, use a large baby bottle stencil for one piece, a pacifier, a diaper shirt and a baby hat for others. Cut out the shape. The stenciled pictures should be close to the same size as the card stock sheet. You can draw the outlines by freehand if you prefer.
- 3). Write one letter on each card stock cut out using the large letter stencils. Color in the shapes using markers in colors that coordinate with the shower’s color scheme.
- 4). Cut a long piece of cord or string, at least 1.5-times the length of the letters when laid side by side.
- 5). Make a hole, using a hole punch, through the top of each card stock shape. Thread a piece of ribbon through each hole and tie the ribbons to the cord or string. Space each piece of card stock about 1-inch apart with a gap of at least 4 to 5 inches in between each word and at both ends of the string.
- 6). Attach a few baby items to the string in between the words using clothespins. Use items such as baby booties, baby hats and diaper shirts. Hang the banner up where everyone will see it.
