How to Open Links in Outlook Express
- 1). Click the "Start" button on the lower left-hand side of your screen and scroll to "All Programs," "Microsoft Office," then "Outlook Express."
- 2). Use your mouse or laptop touchpad to double-click "Outlook Express" and launch the program.
- 3). Open a received email with a link embedded in it by highlighting that email and double-clicking.
- 4). Locate the embedded link in the email, which will often begin with the web address code (http://). This link is typically highlighted in a blue color to distinguish it from other text in the email.
- 5). Double-click the web link to open an Internet browser window and view the website.
- 6). Troubleshoot web links that won't open by making sure Internet Explorer is your default web browser for Outlook Express. To do this, close Outlook Express and open Internet Explorer. Click on "Tools" at the top of your screen; then choose "Internet Options."
- 7). Choose the "Programs" tab under Internet Options.
- 8). Look for "Default Web Browser" about halfway down the menu screen and check the box to make Internet Explorer the default web browser.
- 9). Reopen Outlook Express and click the web link in an email to visit the webpage for that link.
