How to Remove Ink From Beige Carpet
- 1). No matter what the spill or stain may be or what color your carpet is, time is of the essence. The sooner you act, the better your chance to get rid of the stain. The longer you wait to attack a stain, especially a liquid like ink, the more chance the spill will have of permanently seeping into the carpet fibers.
- 2). For liquid spills like ink, blot them with a clean white cloth or towel. Especially with light carpet like beige, using a colored towel can cause the dyes from the towel to bleed into the carpet. Rinsing with warm water once the stain has been blotted will help to properly remove it. Rubbing a stain or spot can often set it more permanently and can cause it to spread.
- 3). For dark stains like ink, use one tbsp. of ammonia with 3/4 cup of water to remove it. It is best to spray the ammonia with a bottle rather than try to pour it on the stain. Pouring the ammonia on the carpet can cause the stain to be splashed and spread out into the carpet fibers.
- 4). After you blot the ink stain from your carpet, it is best to let it dry on its own. Letting the spot or stain air-dry will help to ensure that it will dry properly. If all of the stain has not been removed after one application, try another ammonia treatment.
